The Perfect Fall Cocktail

Autumn Whiskey Sour

It’s time to put away the rosé and white wine spritzers and pull out the red wine and Irish whiskey, because fall is finally here. Being that we are around seven months into quarantine and mid-election season, it’s the perfect time to perfect a cocktail or two or three.

This is the perfect beverage to sip on throughout the season and requires very few ingredients. I wanted to pay homage to the classic fall flavors of cinnamon, apple, and pumpkin in this perfectly spiced autumnal cocktail. I typically start my fall recipe prep in late August and this year is no different. I’ll be sharing more of my favorite fall recipes in my fall newsletters, so make sure you’re signed up, below! Now, let’s get into the cocktail!

When it came to the simple syrup, I chose to use coconut sugar as opposed to traditional granulated sugar because it provides a warm autumnal tone for the cocktail. If you’re someone who prefers a more subtle fall flavor opt for a traditional simple syrup rather than the spiced, or do half spiced, half traditional. It’s important to not be afraid of testing and trying flavor combinations to see what works best for you- if you’re from my family, you would probably be drinking the whiskey straight, which is never a bad option!
